Our Programs
We provide holistic, long‑term care – and we’re working to build the permanent facilities that will secure their future.
📚 Education & School Support
What we do: We are planning to build a Central Primary School. Currently, we support over 160 children by covering school fees, uniforms, books, and a hot lunch at local community schools and rented classrooms.
- Qualified teachers for all primary grades (P1–P7) in our future school
- Remedial classes for children who started school late
- Extracurricular activities: music, sports, debate
- End‑of‑term reports sent to sponsors
Impact: 95% of our children pass their primary leaving exams, compared to the national average of 88%. Many have gone on to secondary school – a dream their families never thought possible.
🏥 Healthcare & HIV Treatment
What we do: Many children arrive with HIV and other chronic illnesses. We provide free access to antiretroviral medication, regular health check‑ups, and a balanced diet.
- On‑site nurse available daily
- Partnership with Kiboga Hospital for specialized care
- Medication adherence support – no child misses a dose
- Health education for children and staff
Impact: All our children on treatment have stable viral loads and lead active lives. We’ve had zero AIDS‑related deaths since 2022.
🏠 Shelter, Food & Clean Water
What we do: We plan to build secure dormitories with bunk beds, blankets, and mosquito nets. In the meantime, we house children in rented shelters, providing three nutritious meals a day. A borehole supplies clean water.
- Separate sleeping areas for boys and girls
- Full‑time matrons/uncles for 24/7 care
- Small garden supplements our meals; we aim to establish a larger school farm
- Sanitary pads and hygiene kits for girls
Impact: Children who once slept on the floor now have a bed of their own. Hunger is no longer a barrier to learning.
🛠️ Skills & Talent Development
What we do: Beyond academics, we nurture each child’s unique talents. We plan to offer training in tailoring, crafts, and agriculture when our own school is built. Currently, we encourage music, dance, and sports.
- Future school farm will teach sustainable farming
- Tailoring workshop (temporary) where older children learn to make uniforms
- Football, netball, and traditional dance teams
- Guest speakers and career guidance
Impact: Several older children now earn small incomes from their crafts, feeling empowered. Our football team brings joy and community pride.
The Problem We Address
In rural Uganda, over 1.2 million children are out of school due to poverty, lack of infrastructure, and cultural barriers. Orphaned children – especially those living with HIV – are the most likely to fall through the cracks. LIFFO exists to fill this gap, providing a complete safety net for the most vulnerable.
🏗️ Our Future Programs
The biggest dream we hold is to build our own permanent school and dormitories – a place that the children can truly call home and where they will receive the best possible education.
🏫 A Central Primary School
We have secured land and are now raising funds to construct:
- 8 bright, fully‑equipped classrooms
- A library and computer room
- A kitchen and dining hall to serve nutritious meals
- Staff offices and a sick bay
Once built, this school will provide free, high‑quality education to over 200 children.
🏠 Safe, Permanent Dormitories
Our children currently live in rented accommodation. With your help we will build:
- Separate dormitories for boys and girls, each with proper beds and storage
- Clean showers and toilets
- A common room for study and play
- House parents’ quarters for round‑the‑clock care
A permanent home will give every child the stability and security they need to heal and grow.
